Circa 1725 English needlepoint panel in wool and silk depicting a charming grove of flowering trees with twisted trunks. Below the trees are naively drawn sheep and cows. In the background are typical stylized hills (hillyhocks) filled with flowers and birds. The needlework is in excellent condition, with vivid colors and some restoration to the brown areas. All the velvet is cut red silk with metal thread, put together in the 19th century. Provenance: Bacri Freres, Paris.
