Two circa 1897-98 (Arts & Crafts) French furnishing samples printed on velveteen by Scheurer, Lauth & cie with a large scale design of irises & acanthus leaves in various colors.

Circa 1750 Spanish or Italian green silk velvet cope, with applied yellow silk in scrolling vine pattern.

c. 1550 Italian (Florence) voided red silk velvet in an ogival pomegranate design alternated with an ogival stylized floral bud design. The bands and floral bases are further patterned with voided diamond and dot patterns making a rich pattern.
The background is a silver lame. This type of velvet was very costly and can be seen depicted in Florentine paintings of the period, worn by the very wealthy or the very holy.Mounted.

Circa 1400-1500 Italian chasuble back with a central panel and top made of a rare design of Ottoman velvet, c. 1500. All the velvet is cut red silk with metal thread, pieced together in the 19th century because they were so highly valued. Provenance: Bacri Freres, Paris. They held an important collection of Medieval, Renaissance and Islamic textiles as dealers before WWII.

F05-1638 B, and C Three pieces of19th century French striated emerald green silk velvet after a 16th century scrolling floral design. This was a sample from a fabric house in Lyon. This design is referred to as "Cluny," probably based on a textile in the collection of the Cluny Museum, Paris.
